Hi Beauty, My name is Victoria and I am a professional makeup artist located on Long Island. My love for makeup started as a little 6 year old competitive dancing peanut that had to get stage ready for performances multiple times a year. As we got older, I started doing all my friends, it happened pretty authentically. So I guess you can say, I’ve been doing makeup since I was a little girl!
The Wedding Industry
The wedding industry is a magical environment to be a part of. It’s the celebration of the love shared between two people, and even just typing that gives me butterflies. Knowing I can contribute to being a part of that magic and the bride trusting me in how she’ll look for that day, is quite simply such a fulfilling feeling for me. I’m a sucker for sentimental sappy moments, so it only seems natural that this is my career and I look forward to these emotional milestones.
The Wedding Memories
My favorite moment from every wedding is that first look when the bride gets to see herself all done up (I tear up my every time). It’s an overwhelming feeling of accomplishment and gratitude. This is how she will look walking down the aisle, saying her vows and cutting her cake with her life partner. And I’m fortunate to be a part of their journey, even if it’s just for a few hours the morning of their wedding day.
Although my specialty is makeup, my work is executed so that no two makeup are ever the same. It’s a customized service that is tailored to the person sitting before me. I ask a lot of questions throughout the process, but it’s only so I can understand your vision and be the person who can bring that to life. I’ve been told multiple times that “I look like a better version of myself, but I still look like me”. The goal is to make you feel comfortable and confident in your own skin.
Makeup by Vic has been in business for 8 years. I started out at a salon on the North Shore assisting when I was 19 and have rapidly grown my business and proud to say I have my own makeup counter located in Port Washington, NY at Wash Salon & Color Lounge. It’s my home base for trials, makeup applications, makeup lessons, individual lashes, lash lifting, brow shaping and more. The fun maintenance stuff we need to keep up with on the regular!
Frequently Asked Questions
Do you do trials?:
Yes I do! Makeup trials are performed at my home sweet home
Wash Salon & Color Lounge
30 Main Street
Port Washington, NY 11050
Thursdays 10-7, Friday’s 10-6 and select Saturday’s 9-5 if I’m not out on location doing makeup for a wedding that is previously booked. At your trial, we will discuss your skincare regiment, your vision for makeup and the little details that go into the wedding so we can make sure the morning of your wedding runs as smoothly as possible. I can also answer any questions you have and get you on a skincare regiment if you need one.
I have a large bridal party, do you do everyone your self or have a team of artists?:
I have a team of talented makeup artists that have worked with or trained that can come if we are crunched for time or have a larger group. Since I do bring in other make up artists and not assistants, they are professionals who have their own beauty businesses and are an amazing addition to the glam quad.
When I’m not working, you can find me in Michaels craft store, Hobby Lobby or Homegoods. Sorry, not sorry! I’m always working on some type of DIY craft to add to my home or looking for that perfect fake succulent plant to make it look like Joanna Gaines personally designed my interior. It’s my guilty pleasure and I know I’m not alone!
I’m also a huge dog person. If you don’t see me posting my beautiful clients on my IG stories, its likely its one of my three dogs. Luna which is a blue nosed pit that is the dopiest/sweetest soul you’ll ever meet. Benni which is a pleasantly plump chihuahua mix that will give you an actual hug if you ask for one from him. And the newest edition to our family Chloe, which is a 4 lb chihuahua that thinks she is a pit (still in the process of training her)
