Hi! My name is Theresa, founder of Tree Tails Pet Care!
After getting engaged myself, I immediately knew that having my own pets at my wedding was a huge priority. But while planning, I kept getting stuck on one major question: Who’s going to watch my dog during the wedding day?
I realized this is a challenge so many engaged couples face. Your pets are family, and of course you want them there for your biggest moments! But any friend or relative you might ask to help is already there to celebrate with you, and you don’t want someone you love to spend your wedding “working.”
So… who do you call?
Well, I decided to become the answer to that question. You call me!
With a background in animal care, behavior, grooming, and pet handling, I strive to make your wedding day as stress-free and magical for your pets as it is for you. Every animal is different, and I pride myself on meeting them exactly where they are. Some pets feel nervous in large crowds - I’m there to comfort and reassure them. Some get a little too excited - I’m there to help them burn off those zoomies before the big moment. Above all else, my top priority is to help your fur baby stay happy and safe throughout the day.
Outside of weddings, I also work closely with young adults with special needs - a role that has further shaped my patience, adaptability, and natural caregiving approach. Caring for others has always come naturally to me, and I bring that same compassion and attentiveness to every pet I work with.
My goal is never just to “watch” your pets. I’m there to advocate for them, care for them, and help include them in your wedding in whatever way feels right for you as a couple. Whether your pet is walking down the aisle, posing for portraits, greeting guests, or simply sharing quiet moments with you behind the scenes, I make sure they are safe, comfortable, and genuinely cared for every step of the way.
One of my absolute favorite moments is watching a couple light up when they finally see their pet on their wedding day. There’s something so special about that moment when the entire family is together — including the four-legged family members who have been there through every chapter leading up to “I do.”
I also believe this service should feel accessible and attainable for couples across Long Island, and I’m proud to work with and celebrate couples of all backgrounds.
No matter what your wedding day looks like, I’m here to be your Pet’s Plus One!
Although, admittedly, I still haven’t figured out who’s going to be my pet’s plus one at my wedding yet. So if you’re reading this and have ideas… I’m all ears.
