I’m Joseph Mondello, also known as DJ Ello, founder of Ello Entertainment.

I began DJing at the age of 15 and went on to build my foundation in New York City’s club scene. Over the past 20+ years, that experience has grown into a company focused on elevated, high-energy weddings.

Today, we deliver a well-executed celebration where the music, pacing, and overall flow feel natural from one moment to the next.

Weddings are one of the few moments in life where everything and everyone comes together in one place, and being part of that is something I never take for granted.

What I love most is the ability to shape the room in real time. Music has a way of bringing people together instantly, and seeing different generations connect in the same moment is what makes this work so rewarding.

Every wedding is different, and that is part of what keeps it meaningful.

There are so many moments that stand out, and they are never all the same.

Sometimes it is the emotional side, especially during ceremonies and first dances, where the room goes still and you can feel exactly how much the moment means. After building a relationship with my clients throughout the planning process, those moments can still give me chills on the day of the wedding. Since we also provide video services, I sometimes find myself watching them back later and feeling genuinely grateful for the moments we get to be part of, especially seeing families and friends together in a way that only happens on days like that.

We specialize in creating a seamless, high-energy music experience that feels natural to each couple and their guests.

Our style is open-format, built on reading the room and knowing how to move between genres, generations, and moments without forcing it.

We focus on clean mixing, thoughtful transitions, and a curated selection of edits and mashups that elevate the energy while still feeling familiar and accessible.

No two weddings sound the same. Every set is tailored to the couple, their guests, and the overall atmosphere they want to create.

Beyond the music, Ello Entertainment brings together DJs, MCs, musicians, and production to ensure everything flows the way it should. We also offer photography and videography as part of a more complete, well-coordinated event experience.

Ello Entertainment was founded by me, Joseph Mondello, with the goal of bringing a more refined and intentional approach to wedding entertainment.

What began as a passion for DJing and music has grown into a company known for quality, consistency, and execution at a high level.

1. What makes your DJ style different?

Our approach combines thoughtful preparation with live performance.

We spend time in advance understanding each couple’s taste and building a custom music foundation around their preferences and the overall feel of the wedding. From there, we perform in real time, reading the room and shaping the night as it unfolds.

That balance keeps the music personal, responsive, and never locked into a rigid playlist.

2. What is your planning and communication process like?

Planning and communication are a big part of what sets us apart.

Once booked, you’ll have access to our Planning Workspace where you can build and refine your event details over time. The process is structured and easy to manage, with reminders for key steps like planning updates, payments, and scheduling.

We also coordinate in advance with your planner, venue, vendor team, and any photo or video team involved so everything stays aligned and the event runs smoothly.

3. How does booking and payment work?

To secure your date, we require a 10% retainer, with a minimum of $400 depending on the package.

We offer flexible payment options including Zelle, check, cash, and credit card, along with installment options through Klarna.

The remaining balance is due during the week of the wedding to make the day-of experience as seamless as possible, unless you plan to pay in cash.

4. Do you travel for weddings?

Yes. We perform throughout New York, nationwide, and for destination weddings.

5. How far in advance should we book?

We recommend booking as early as possible, especially for peak dates.

We take on a limited number of events to maintain quality and attention to detail, so availability can fill quickly.
