Introduction
The Wedding Industry
In 2018 Ivory & Main was founded by Curinne Polizzi. As a plus size woman herself she understood how difficult it could be at times to find clothes, nevertheless a wedding gown. Bridal dress shopping should be a wonderful experience for everyone. so When it was time to find her own gown she set her sites on going to a plus size bridal gown shop. Unfortunately nothing like this existed in New York state. Shortly after her search she found herself placing her own wedding planning on a temporary hold, took their wedding savings and began to put a plan into action to open Ivory & Main, New Yorks 1st exclusive plus size Bridal shop.

The Wedding Memories
There are a couple of Brides that we have referenced in articles written about the shop over the years, but there is one in particular that stands out the most. Shorty after Ivory & Main opened there was a bride who came in with her Mom to search for gowns. She was so sweet but very nervous and you could see she had anxiety about gown shopping. She tried on a few dresses and said yes to this beautiful lace Essense of Austrailia gown. I remember her mom going up on the platform and they were hugging each other so tightly, and as tears rolled down both of their faces the bride said to her mom, I cant believe I found the dress, I never thought I would be able to actually try them on. There wasnt a dry eye in the shop. Her anxiexy wasnt so much about finding the gown, it was actually being able to put the gown on and see how it would look on her body. This expereince should be the same for Brides of all sizes, and being plus size can make that challenging at times. We are dedicated to making the day as memorable as it should be.
Specialization
Ivory & Main sprecializes in Curvy, Plus and Mid size Brides. But we do NOT discriminate. We have worked with Brides from a size 2 to a 32. Any bride at any size can come shop with us. If you are smaller and would like to have the Ivory & Main experience and believe in what we stand for, which is size inclusivity, no worris we are masters at clipping gowns on any size Bride!
Company History
Ivory & Main has quickly become one of the go to Bridal shops for Curvy and Plus size women, not only in New York but across the country. Almost half of our Brides come from out of state. We've grown so much we have now expanded and added another location in Port Jeffereson on Main street, which has Mother of the Bride/Groom gowns, Prom and Sweet 16 dresses along with occasion wear and ready to wear clothes for us curvy beauties!

The ladies at Ivory & Main were amazing from start to finish, especially Gianna! I got my alterations done with them as well and they did an amazing job. I lost quite a bit of weight for the wedding and I was really nervous about it being taken in that much, but they reassured me that it would be fine, and they were right!

The owners and staff are so beyond amazing! They make everything you might need to do for the dress buying process easy. As a size 28/30 bride, it was a magnificent experience finding my dream dress in the first visit! My dress appointment was nothing but smiles, laughter, and high confidence.
As a plus size bride, there is simply nothing like this. This dress shop takes the dread out of in person wedding dress shopping for curvy women. I drove down from Massachusetts and it was So SO worth it. I can’t say enough good things about my experience there, the dresses, the stylist I worked with, and the interior!

An absolute "must" for curvy brides! The selection truly is vast carrying all of the best designers. At no point did I feel limited in my dress shopping experience here. Leah was amazingly helpful, patient and thoughtfully picked some truly stunning dresses based on the vibe I described for my wedding.
Ok so if I could give this place a 10 STAR rating I would. They have a variety of dresses in every size, for the smaller waist and for those of us with a curve. This shop is amazing as they have larger sizes so I could actually try on sample dress, that fit me. They were so helpful and truly care about ensuring you find a wedding dress you fall in love with.
THIS PLACE IS AMAZING! I had a wonderful experience getting my dress from here. Gianna was SO helpful and sweet and made me feel so special. Everyone in the store was just so nice and truly caring. The dresses are GORGEOUS and its so nice being able to have a store like this that caters to curvy/plus size women. I could not recommend this place more.
