Hi, I’m Matt/MC Matty, the person behind LI Music Boutique, and yes, I take dance floors very seriously (in the most fun way possible). I sit with every couple personally, and I’m all about packed floors, perfect timing, and those moments where everyone—from your college friends to your grandparents—is singing along. My goal? Zero awkward gaps, zero cheesy vibes (unless you want them), and a night your guests will still be talking about long after the last song. I’m there to read the room, keep the energy flowing, and make sure your wedding feels like you. I’m not just pressing play—I’m helping create the soundtrack to one of the best days of your life.

I actually got my start in this industry over 20 years ago—long before I was behind the booth or on a Mic—by carrying gear for other DJs. I was the one loading in speakers, setting up lights, and watching everything unfold from the sidelines. Somewhere along the way, I fell in love with the energy of weddings—the way music can bring every generation together and turn a room full of people into one big celebration. What I love most is being part of those moments you can’t really put into words—the packed dance floor, the sing-alongs, the memories that stick with people long after the night ends.

It’s funny—after all these weddings, it’s not always the big, perfectly planned moments that stick with me most. It’s the silly stuff. The times when the couple and their guests really let their guard down and just act like themselves. I’ve seen ties come off, heels kicked to the side, and entire dance floors turn into one big sing-along. Those are the moments that feel real. That’s what I love most—when the timeline fades into the background and everyone is just fully present, celebrating together.

I specialize in building a party that actually feels like your party. I ask a lot of questions about your friends, family, and guests—who’s going to be out on the dance floor, who needs a little push, and who I can have some fun with. I use that insight throughout the night to get people engaged, bring out personalities, and yes… sometimes “pick on” the right people in a fun, lighthearted way that gets everyone laughing and involved.

I’ve been in this industry for over 20 years, and my path really started from the ground up—literally. I began by carrying gear and helping other DJs, learning every part of the job before ever stepping behind the booth. Over time, I worked my way into a larger “big box” company that was doing 30–40 events every weekend. It was an incredible experience and taught me how to handle just about anything—but it also showed me how easy it is for weddings to start feeling more like a production line than a personal experience.

That’s a big part of why I built Music Boutique the way I did. Today, we intentionally take on a limited number of events—no more than four at a time—so we can focus on quality, preparation, and giving each couple the attention they deserve. Looking ahead, that’s exactly where I see us staying: growing carefully, staying hands-on, and continuing to deliver a more personalized, high-quality experience for every wedding we’re part of.

A question I hear a lot is whether I’ll personally be the DJ at every event. As much as I’d love to clone myself, I can only be at one wedding per night! The good news is, the team I send out is amazing. I’ve spent years building and training a group that I fully trust—and between us, I always say I might be the worst one on the roster. Either way, you’re getting someone who knows how to bring the party.

When I’m not behind the DJ booth or on a Mic, you’ll usually find me around something with an engine. I’m a big car, bike, and boat guy—anything fast is my kind of fun. On the other side of things, I’m also a very proud (and slightly obsessed) Girl dad. My daughter is a huge part of my world, and while I know she’ll be a bride one day, I’m in no hurry for that moment just yet.
