The Wedding Industry

💫 Elyse Remigio, Director of Catering

I grew up in this industry, so for me, this isn’t just a career—it’s part of who I am.

I was introduced to catering at a very young age through my family, started working events as a teenager, and sold my first wedding at 16. From there, I worked my way through every role—dishwasher, server, bridal attendant, captain, maitre d’, receptionist—learning every detail that goes into creating a flawless wedding.

What I love most is bringing a vision to life and seeing everything come together seamlessly. There’s a moment at every wedding—the energy, the emotion, the excitement—where you just know you helped create something unforgettable.

But beyond that, it’s the relationships. Being trusted with one of the most important days in someone’s life is something I never take lightly. I don’t just plan weddings—I make sure they run perfectly so my couples can truly enjoy every second.

🌿 Annmarie Leckie, Sales Manager

My passion for this industry started at a young age when my family would travel, and I became fascinated with hotels, service, and how everything worked behind the scenes.

That curiosity led me to study Hospitality Management, where I learned every aspect of the industry—from operations to event execution. During my internship at a full-service hotel, I was introduced to events of all sizes, and I quickly realized how much I loved seeing an event go from an idea to a fully executed experience.

I stayed with that organization for over 15 years, growing and learning along the way, and what has always stayed consistent is how much I value the relationships I build with my clients.

What I love most is really getting to know each person I work with—understanding their vision, their family, and what’s important to them. Being able to bring that to life and create something meaningful and memorable for them is incredibly rewarding.

💕 Gianna Pisani, Sales Manager

I’ve always been “the planner” in my friend group—the one organizing trips, making plans, and making sure everything comes together perfectly.

During college, I worked for a catering company one summer, and that’s when everything clicked for me. I fell in love with the fast pace, the creativity, and the energy of events. It felt like the perfect mix of everything I enjoy.

What I love most about being in the wedding industry is the people. I get to build real connections with my couples, celebrate alongside them, and be part of such a meaningful time in their lives.

There’s something so special about taking someone’s vision and bringing it to life—and then seeing it all come together on the big day. It’s the best feeling, and it’s why I truly love what I do.

The Wedding Memories

💫 Elyse Remigio, Director of Catering

It’s honestly so hard to choose just one memory, because there have been so many incredible moments over the years—but there are two that will stay with me forever.

The first goes all the way back to the very beginning of my career—my very first wedding. That couple stayed with me throughout my journey, trusting me again and again through life’s biggest milestones. I had the honor of planning their son’s bris, then his bar mitzvah, and most recently… his wedding. Sitting in the front row next to his parents, watching him get married, I was crying my eyes out. It was such a full-circle moment and a reminder of how deeply rooted these relationships become.

The second is something I will never forget. I had the honor of hosting the first same-sex weddings on Long Island the moment it became legalized—100 couples, all at once. The emotion, the love, the energy in that room… it was overwhelming in the most beautiful way. Being part of such a meaningful and historic moment is something I will carry with me forever.

Moments like these are why I do what I do. You’re not just part of one day—you become part of people’s stories.

🌿 Annmarie Leckie, Sales Manager

One of my favorite memories was actually from my very first “big wedding” at Danfords. I was still new and, to be honest, a little nervous—I wanted everything to be perfect and was really focused on proving myself.

At the end of the toasts, the bride and groom stood up to thank their guests, and then suddenly said, “Where is Annmarie?”

In a room of 100 people, I was standing in the back, but they called me forward just to thank me in front of everyone for helping make their fairytale wedding come true.

It was such an unexpected and emotional moment, and one I will never forget. It reminded me how much of an impact we truly have on our couples and how meaningful this work really is.

💕 Gianna Pisani, Sales Manager

One of the most memorable weddings I’ve worked on was a young couple from last summer who were just so fun, genuine, and excited from the very beginning.

A few weeks before the wedding, the bride shared something very personal with me—she was pregnant, but wanted to keep it a surprise from her family during the wedding. It was really important to me that she still felt included in every moment without drawing attention.

We made a plan to swap her champagne with a non-alcoholic version that looked identical, and even created a custom “signature drink” just for her so she could fully enjoy the experience.

I also learned she had a sweet tooth and was craving Dr. Pepper, so when they checked in the night before, I surprised them with a little welcome treat with desserts and her favorite drink.

Seeing how happy and appreciated they were—and watching all those personal touches come together—made it a wedding I’ll never forget. It reminded me how much the little details truly matter.

Specialization

💫 Elyse Remigio, Director of Catering

I specialize in creating seamless, high-level wedding experiences where every detail is thoughtfully executed from start to finish.

Having worked every position in this industry, I have the ability to anticipate needs before they arise and ensure that everything runs flawlessly behind the scenes. I focus heavily on execution—making sure your timeline flows perfectly, your guests feel taken care of, and your vision comes to life exactly as you imagined.

I’m also very hands-on and accessible to my couples. I’m available by cell phone 7 days a week, so you always feel supported, confident, and taken care of throughout the entire process.

At the end of the day, I specialize in making sure your wedding doesn’t just look beautiful—it feels effortless and runs perfectly.

Personal Hobbies

💫 Elyse Remigio, Director of Catering

When I’m not working, I’m with my family—that’s really my happy place. I’m a mom first, and I love spending time with my kids, whether we’re traveling, exploring new places, or just enjoying the everyday moments together.

I’m also someone who loves planning (no surprise there 😊), especially when it comes to trips and experiences. I’m always thinking about the next place to go or how to make something feel special and memorable.

I also genuinely enjoy dining out and experiencing different restaurants—it’s where I find a lot of inspiration for what we do. For me, whether it’s at home or at work, it’s always about creating experiences that people will remember.

🌿 Annmarie Leckie, Sales Manager

When I’m not at work, I love spending time with my family—especially my two sons and my daughter-in-law. Those moments are what make me happiest.

I enjoy doing puzzles, gardening, and traveling whenever I can. One of my favorite things to do with my husband is finding new breweries—no matter where we are. We’ve even made it a point to find one while traveling in places like Venice, Italy!

I really appreciate the simple things—relaxing, spending time with loved ones, and enjoying new experiences along the way.

💕 Gianna Pisani, Sales Manager

When I’m not working, I’m usually doing something fun and a little all over the place—in the best way.

I’m a total beach girl at heart, and Aruba is my favorite place. It’s a family tradition for me—I’ve been going since I was little, so it really feels like home away from home.

I love country music and going to concerts, and I’m really into staying active—whether that’s working out or trying a new class just for fun. I also love exploring new restaurants, making plans, and spending as much time as I can with my friends and family.

I’m happiest when I’m making memories and just enjoying the moment—and that’s the same energy I bring into every wedding I work on.

BOLI Love!

We choose Danford's/Pearl Catering because we loved it's waterfront location and the hotel's history. We couldn't have made a better choice! Our wedding coordinators Annemarie and Elyse went over and beyond assisting us with every detail. We were able to do everything we wanted to and stay within budget. We were so impressed with the food and the professionalism of the entire staff from our bridal attendant, to the servers and bartenders. Our waterfront ceremony was like a dream with the ferry and boats in the backdrop. Our guests had a wonderful experience. Everyone loved the food and we had a lot of options to choose from. The atmosphere was beautiful. Everyone was on the dancefloor all through the wedding. We spent the night in one of their beautiful rooms and woke up to a view of the water the next day. We couldn't have made a better choice!

Helene

Pearl Catering was most professional, and Gianna was over the top with making our day magical. Our family and friends were thrilled with the venue and had a wonderful time. The food was fabulous, and the staff was diligent throughout the evening. If I could do it all over again, I would choose Danford's. Pearl Catering knows how to throw a party with class.
