How far in advance should I book my wedding venue?
Booking your wedding is one of the first things you should do when planning your wedding. This will allow you to speak with other vendors on their availability. Many couples choose to book their weddings so they have 1-2 years to plan the celebration however; we do see couples who book their wedding with less than 1 year to plan.
How many guests can your venue accommodate and is there a minimum requirement?
Generally the minimum guarantee is between 100 and 120 guests but we also offer reception rooms that can seat as little as 50 guests & up to 350 guests.
Are there different rates for peak and off-season dates?
Rates are not only affected by the season but also the time of day and the reception room you select. Off peak months like Jan. through March are more cost effective than months like April through December. As well, AM affairs are less expensive than PM and Twilight (Mid-Day) affairs.
Are plates, silverware, and glassware provided?

Are table linens & napkins included?
Yes. Included with your event is your choice of standard tablecloths & napkins. Upgrades are available for an additional fee through our recommended vendors or you may choose to bring your own.

If you’re considering Watermill Caterers for your wedding, I truly cannot recommend them enough. Every expectation we had was exceeded, and the hospitality, professionalism, attention to detail, and organization were outstanding from beginning to end. We fell in love with Watermill immediately. Rob Drago made the planning process feel effortless. He was warm, transparent, accommodating, and always available to answer questions. Everything was clearly explained, and every interaction left us feeling excited. Our bridal attendants, Liv and Elaine, were absolutely phenomenal. They anticipated every need before I even realized I had one. They carried my bouquet and our minifans, switched me into my reception shoes, bustled my dress perfectly, made sure I always had water or a drink in my hand, and coordinated seamlessly with our photographer, videographer, DJ, and maître d’. They allowed us to simply enjoy every second of our wedding. Our maître d’ Sean was extremely professional. Although we had planned an outdoor ceremony, a light rain shower rolled in. We had no choice but to move inside. Within 10 minutes, the Watermill team completely transformed the indoor chapel. It was absolutely breathtaking. They handled what could have been a stressful situation with such professionalism that it never even crossed our minds to worry! Since our wedding, we have received countless messages saying it was one of the best weddings our guests have ever attended. People are still talking about the incredible food, the staff, the beautiful venue, and how smoothly everything flowed. We truly believe Watermill was a huge reason our day felt so magical.
Phenomenal! They are such a well-oiled machine, having everything down to a science. They anticipated my husband’s and my every move and were all so professional, kind, and attentive to both our parents, who were blown away. The FOOD was incredible! The number of guests who came up to us or messaged us the next day about the food was amazing. We even had to call on the morning of the wedding to update the seating chart, and they were so accommodating. Working with them was seamless, and as a type A person, I had absolutely nothing to worry about.

Rob was so wonderful to work with and was very easy to talk to. He made us feel so welcomed during our first meeting all the way through our wedding day! The entire Watermill staff are true professionals and really know how to make you feel special leading up to your big day. The day of the wedding, we felt so taken care of. Nick was our maître d and he was awesome! Nick was calm, fun, and kept the entire night running smoothly. Christina was my bridal attendant and she was absolutely wonderful. Anything that my husband or I, or anyone in the bridal party needed, she was right there to help! Jessica was our captain and she was really wonderful and kind as well! I would 100% recommend Watermill for your wedding day because the staff really felt like family. The food was incredible and the grounds and ballrooms were just outstanding.
The venue itself was amazing. We were taken care of so well. I didn’t worry about one thing the entire night. When my drinks were low my bridal attendant was ready to hand me a full one. We got married in the Astor room. We had fake florals on our table and above the fireplace which were provided by the venue and were plenty. The food and cocktail hour was incredible. Our guests raved about how amazing the food was!
I absolutely LOVE the Watermill. Aside from being a truly beautiful venue, I felt so incredibly taken care of from booking all the way up to and through my wedding day. For the brides that ask often- there is really no need for a day of coordinator when your venue is the Watermill. They absolutely will make certain that all is set up as you instruct and that the entire day goes off without a hitch! And can we talk about the food…. This is the biggest selling point of the Watermill and one that so so many of my guests are STILL talking about! I would always recommend the Watermill to anyone looking!
The watermill was an amazing venue. Everything went smoothly the day of our wedding and a day of coordinator is not necessary! Our bridal attendants were so helpful throughout the day- getting us drinks, bustling my dress, making sure we ate, etc. The food was amazing, all of our guests still talk about how much they loved the cocktail hour and how they wished it was longer! The venue itself is so beautiful and doesn’t require a lot of added decor- including the outdoor ceremony space and cocktail hour room. Couldn’t recommend the watermill anymore!
The staff at the Watermill the day of my wedding absolutely went above and beyond to ensure I had the most perfect day. They handled everything from setup, changing decor last minute, and everything in between. My maitre d Joe even met me on the dance floor with a fresh drink numerous times reminding me to “hydrate.” I had Christina and Grace as my bridal attendants, and if you have the opportunity to request them, I 100% would. Christina took care of everything from buttoning up the entire back of my dress, bustling it after the ceremony, making sure I was comfortable with what was going on, and advocated for me every step of the way. They made the day run so smoothly, I can’t thank them enough!
From the moment we walked into the Watermill, we knew it was the one. The venue is stunning inside and out, but what truly sets it apart is the staff. From our first meeting with Rob—who made us feel instantly at home—to Mary, Maria, and Lorraine, every interaction was warm, genuine, and above-and-beyond. On the wedding day, I arrived anxious, but Sean (our maître d’), Dom (our captain), and our bridal attendants, Olivia and Francesca, immediately put me at ease. Sean handled every curveball with calm confidence, keeping the entire day seamless. Dom anticipated our every need—even packing up our meals when we were too busy to eat. Olivia and Francesca were absolute angels, fixing my dress, keeping me hydrated, and making sure I didn’t miss a moment. Our families couldn’t stop raving about the exceptional service. And the food—unmatched. Cocktail hour alone had an incredible variety and dinner offered nine entrées. Guests are still talking about the desserts and cookie towers. Our wedding was truly a fairytale, and we wish we could relive it. Rob was right: at the Watermill, you are in the best hands.
Our wedding day was honestly amazing. The staff was super accommodating with all of our specific needs, helped decorate the room & brought our vision to life. The bridal attendants and maitre’d were beyond incredible. They were so attentive and made sure we didn’t have to stress about a single thing. Maria was great when we were finalizing all the little details, and Rob was awesome from the very beginning when we first booked—both of them made everything feel easy and relaxed. And the FOOD… seriously unreal. We got so many compliments from our guests about how delicious everything was and how many options there were. People are still talking about it! Overall, we couldn’t have been happier with the entire experience- it was perfect! I didn’t want a wedding but my husband did, and I would relive this day over and over again.
We got married at Watermill Caterers, and I can honestly say the day could not have been more perfect. I worked with Rob during the booking process. I first toured the venue on my own and told him not to forget me, since it might be a little while before I came back with my fiancé. He never forgot me. When we finally returned, he remembered exactly who I was and made us feel so welcome from the start. Our guests are still talking about how incredible the food was, even the ones who are a bit of food snobs! The venue itself was gorgeous, which was one of the biggest reasons we chose it. The bridal attendants and maître d’ were phenomenal. They were extremely attentive, always one step ahead, and there for anything I could possibly need. I didn’t have to think for myself all day. Everything we brought was packed up neatly at the end of the night, and we only ended up missing one small item out of everything. After the wedding, the staff helped us pack everything into the cars and made sure we didn’t need anything else before heading out. That level of care really stood out to us. We also decided to pay for early room access, which was probably the best decision we made. The girls were able to access the bridal suite eight hours early, and the guys two hours early. It made the morning so much more relaxed since we didn’t have to factor in travel, traffic, or packing and moving things. It gave us the chance to truly enjoy the start of the day without stress. The day wouldn’t have been as perfect as it was without this team. They deserve every bit of praise they get. I cannot think of a single thing they could have done better or differently
The venue itself is absolutely beautiful, and everyone we worked with was incredible. We worked with Rob, then Maria, for the final appointment. They were both great! We gave our final headcount and the next day, 4 people told us they couldn't come. They were very accommodating and actually took them off the list, so we were very surprised and appreciative of that. We also added on the Donut wall as the exit station last minute. They were always available to answer any questions and had a great response time. They also did a first responder discount for us. The day of 10000/10: we worked with Nick as the Maitre D, then 2 bridal assistants, Christina and Shannon. They were all amazing, we were not used to being treated like royalty, because that is really what it was. During the pictures at the venue, Christina was literally holding our drinks, going you need a sip and holding the drink with the straw for us to sip from. Their service and attention to detail are like no other!
Everyone was absolutely amazing to work with! I was nervous about the food because of many guests having allergies, they were so accommodating and made sure everyone was able to eat. My guests are still raving about the cocktail hour, especially the bacon bar which was a total hit! Also, the food served at dinner was delicious! Christina and Elena were amazing and made sure my husband and I had everything we wanted/ needed. I was always able to get any questions answered during the planning process and the whole reception went so smoothly!

Amazing. Booked with Rob. He was pleasant and always answered my messages. Nick was the MaitreD for the Astor Room, we had 100 people. He was amazing and worked well with my OCD and notes I gave him. Everything was followed perfectly. Food was amazing & everyone loved the cocktail hour. Ceremony space was gorgeous, taking a chance to have it outside worked to our favor. Lots of places to take pics. The bridal suite was nice but we were under the assumption we had access to both, bride & groom, but only the bridal suite was available. The captain for the groom was very nice. Everything was perfect.
Watermill was amazing from the moment we went venue touring we knew that this was where we wanted to get married . We have been to several weddings there and the food and service has always been amazing. Throughout the planning process we were able to call or email with ease with any questions. From the moment we walked in our bridal attendant and matrie d made sure we had everything we needed. Our hands were never empty of a drink. My bridal attendant was phenomenal and made sure I got into my sneakers, she had an extra strength pin to pin my dress since it felt loose, and pinned back my hair so it wasn’t bothering me all night. I highly recommended if you are considering Watermill!!
Watermill hands down knows exactly how to throw a wedding! From start to finish everything was so seamless. We booked with Rob and he was very communicative. We had changed a few things last minute and without any problems. We had decided to have a continuous cocktail hour….DO IT! DONT even think about it just do it! So many options and a great style! I was nervous that there wouldn’t be enough time to party and dance but we had plenty of time and everyone enjoyed themselves! Our guests are still raving about the food and drinks! I had Erika as my bridal attendant and she was so sweet! She never left my side and made sure I always had a drink in my hand. As soon as we stepped out of the limo she knew exactly what was needed! We also had Dominic and Johnny that night a part of our team and nothing but wonderful things to say about them! They really just know what they are doing and I can’t recommend Watermill enough!
Like many others, we were very happy with the Watermill! There were so many entrée choices and cocktail station options to choose from, and the food was phenomenal! It was truly a pleasure working with Rob, and he made us feel like family right away! He even allowed me to tie all my place cards to champagne glasses on a double-decker table in the lobby, which I really appreciated! Nick, our Maitre D, was experienced, so calm, and handled the evening with extreme care and precision. We loved that he was “in charge” of our special night. Olivia, our bridal attendant, was phenomenal, attending to all of our needs, and Dom, our Captain, worked effortlessly behind the scenes. The night went off without a single mishap. Their team is truly outstanding and so amazing at what they do, and it was honestly an honor and a pleasure to be surrounded by them the entire night. As expected, guests RAVED about the food, and it was overall just an absolutely incredible night!!!

The bridal attendants Kailah and Jessica were AMAZING. From top to bottom, all the staff were just great. It couldn't have gone more perfectly. The watermill staff was absolutely incredible. They tried everything in their power the day of our wedding to make my dreams of an outdoor ceremony come true, but the rain had other plans. The food was incredible. All of our guests were RAVING for weeks about the menu selections and cocktail hour. 100000/10 experience!
I could write a dissertation on how INCREDIBLE the Watermill was. The grounds are absolutely stunning and there are SO many different places to take photos, the food is delicious, and the staff are truly world class. We booked with Rob, who I can’t speak highly enough on. He was absolutely incredible from start to finish, and was actively involved in helping us solve any planning roadblocks we ran into. He offered us connections for vendors we were struggling to book, and offered us suggestions anywhere he could. We had Nick as our Matre’D and he had the night running so smoothly! He was super communicative with us and made sure we had everything we wanted at all times. Christina and Marina were our bridal attendants and they were also top tier and took care of us all night. They bustled our dresses for us during cocktail hour, and made sure we had a full spread of food in the bridal suite so that during cocktail hour we were able to just mingle with our guests. If you are considering booking the Watermill, I promise you won’t regret it!
I am so happy we chose the Watermill for our reception. From the moment we toured the venue, everyone that spoke to us from the planning stage, to our wedding night was nothing but kind, supportive and accommodating. The Watermill is known for their cocktail hour and they did not disappoint! All of our guests are still complimenting their food. The night of the wedding we dealt with Sean and Erika, both were amazing to not only us, but our families as well. The lovely staff at the Watermill went above and beyond to make our day special. Not a detail was left out. The cocktail hour is still being talked about today - everything from the Bacon Bar to the wide variety of sushi was raved over. Dinner was fabulous too. Sean our Maître D was phenomenal. He directed the entire day and went above and beyond! We didn’t have to lift a finger! The cocktail hour was INSANE, leaving our guests so full and still talking about it. There are so many stations to choose from! Our outdoor ceremony was so dreamy! Our pictures came out unreal!
Watermill was the only venue we toured and we absolutely fell in love with it the minute we walked in. We had Rob and he was outstanding with everything! From start to finish we had the best experience. The food and the amount of food they include is unreal and everyone kept raving how good it was. The watermill truly exceeded my expectations. We booked the Vanderbilt room with Rob and he was there with us every step of the way. We were able to reach out to him with any questions we had! We opted to have two bridal attendants plus the maitre d because we had a large bridal party and it was truly nothing short of amazing. They were incredible. The amazing bridal attendants made sure my cup was never empty, she put the sneakers and socks on my feet when I wanted to change shoes and fixed my bustle like five times! The food was absolutely delicious and we received so many compliments. The drinks were so yummy and they also allowed shots which not all venues do! Book the watermill!
They make all of your dreams come true. I wanted a disco ball, they installed one. They come with a day of coordinator and bridal attendants. They do everything for you. I didn’t have to rehearse with my bridal party. They took care of everything. I always had a drink in my hand, always had food. All of my family felt attended to. I was able to drop off and pick up stuff whenever. Everyone raved about the food and the service. I wouldn’t change a single thing. I would book them for any and every event.
If you’re thinking about booking here just do it. They take care of you and of absolutely everything, you won’t have to worry about a single thing or lift a finger on the day of your wedding. The food is the best I’ve ever had at a wedding and the staff is absolutely top notch. Nick was our maitre de, Christina was my bridal attendant, and they made sure we were the most taken care of we’ve ever been in our entire lives, they made the day so easy and perfect. I recently went back here for another wedding and the staff remembered us and treated us like royalty all over again, they are a class act. I would choose the watermill again in an instant.

They truly went above and beyond. We are so lucky we had such a wonderful crew to make sure everything ran smoothly. I can’t say enough good things about the Watermill. Not only is it absolutely beautiful for pictures, but it’s just so intimate as well. Only two weddings happen at a time, but we had our own exit from the patio, own bathrooms as well for guests. Everyone was raving about the food!!
They are worth every penny. Rob was our banquet manager and absolutely killed it, whatever we asked for he delivered with a smile on his face. The bridal attendant and Maître d Nick were absolutely on point. Everything was seamless and we were never without a drink in our hand. We did the taco bell to-go station and that was a hit of course. Our friends and family will not stop raving about the food.
I knew once stepping into Lisa's chair that it was going to be great! I have been following her for awhile and seeing tons of makeup looks! I knew that on my day I just had to book her!!! She is so down to earth and friendly which makes her the easiest choice! I felt so confident and beautiful! I'm so excited to have her on my wedding day!
Just got married at Watermill Caterers in Smithtown. If you’re still looking for a venue or have planned yours their you will not be disappointed. Brian, Sean, Jessica & the entire staff were absolutely amazing and went above & beyond for us. We couldn’t have been more happy with everything.
We had Brian as our main contact. During our first meeting I made a joke that we love Costco pizza and he made it a joke to buy me a pie on our wedding night. Lo and behold on our way out we left carrying our Costco pie for a late night snack. Everything was beyond our wildest dreams. When I got there, 0 worries, 0 stress. We had Sean as our maître de and he was attentive and made everything run smoothly. Kristina was my bridal attendant and god she was a gift from god. She had our drinks waiting for us after the ceremony, and after a quick dress concern she was quick and sprung to action. Cocktail hour was a dream and with the weather we were able to have guests outside. Reception was wonderful, food was excellent. I can’t say enough about it.
