Search Brides of Long Island’s Preferred Vendors
If you want to know for sure that you’re hiring a talented, dedicated, and extremely professional makeup artist, your search should start with Brides of Long Island’s Preferred Makeup Artists.
Everyone on our Preferred Vendor roster is there because they’ve been hired and admired by REAL brides, just like you. To be accepted as a BOLI Preferred Vendor, our makeup artists go a rigorous approval process that involves lots of research and lots of vetting. If an artist doesn’t have overwhelmingly positive reviews from the members of our community, they won’t make it onto our list.
On our website, you can browse all of our incredible makeup artists, see their work, learn more about what makes them tick, get to know them as artists and people, and even contact them to set up appointments.
Think of the BOLI website as your own curated collection of personal recommendations! Once you’ve found the best makeup artist for your big day, stick around to find other vendors and gather lots of wedding ideas.
Read reviews in the Brides of Long Island’s brides-only Facebook group
The BOLI brides-only Facebook group is a fantastic resource to find any vendor. In the group you can find recent reviews (usually with pictures!) and honest feedback about a variety of Long Island makeup artists.
If you’re a bride-to-be and NOT in the brides-only Facebook group, what are you waiting for? Join us today, we can’t wait to welcome you with peace, love and diamonds.

Stalk your favorite Long Island makeup artists on social media
Instagram, TikTok, and other social media sites are great places to see expanded portfolios of your favorite makeup artists’ work. Once you’ve discovered a few potential artists, give them a follow and start scrolling through their pages for inspiration. Once you see a few looks that match your vibe, save the posts so you can come back to them during your trials!
Here’s something to keep in mind, though — with advances in AI, anyone can make it seem like they’re a pro. Be sure that the artists you follow have a mix of “before” and “afters” along with more professional shots. Look closely at their content. If a certain photo looks a bit off, it may be AI-generated (or at least very heavily filtered).
Ask your friends for their recommendations
Your bestie looked stunning on her big day, so don’t be shy — ask her for her makeup artist’s info! Word of mouth is one way that great makeup artists build their client base, and personal referrals are always appreciated.
If you’re attending some weddings as a guest, be sure to pay attention to the bride’s and bridesmaids’ looks. Like what you see? Message the bride! (After the wedding, of course).

Use a search engine or chat bot
We’ll be honest here, search engines and AI chat bots are not our favorite ways to find Long Island makeup artists. Why? Any artist can pay to be the first result that shows up, and ChatGPT is frequently wrong about A LOT of things.
But if all else fails, these can be ways to do some research. Just be sure to do your own vetting before signing any contracts.
Book trials
Trials can get a bit pricey, so save this step for when you’ve narrowed it down to one or two artists. Your trial is an opportunity to see if you both can communicate with each other, they can execute the look you want, and if your personalities gel. Remember, your artist will be with you during a rather stressful morning, so you’ll want to be sure they have the right energy for the day.
Follow these tips, and you’ll be sure to hire the best person for the job!
